Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Introduction

Kalorim ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Kalorim mobile application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Email address — collected when you sign up for our service.
  • Food photos — images you capture or upload for AI-powered calorie analysis. These are processed to generate nutritional estimates.
  • Nutritional data — calorie and macronutrient information generated from your food entries, stored to provide tracking history and insights.
  • Device information — basic device and usage data to improve app performance and diagnose issues.
  • Advertising identifier (IDFA) — on iOS, we only access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. It is used to measure the performance of our Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad campaigns and to attribute installs. If you decline the prompt, no IDFA is collected and no tracking occurs.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide AI-powered nutritional analysis of your food photos.
  • To maintain your calorie and macro tracking history.
  • To send product updates, announcements, and important service notices.
  • To improve our AI models and app experience.
  • To respond to support inquiries.
  • To measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and attribute app installs (only with your ATT consent on iOS).

4. Camera Access

Kalorim requests camera access to allow you to photograph food items for analysis. Camera access is used solely for this purpose. Photos are transmitted securely to our AI processing service and are not shared with third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. Your data is stored on secure servers and transmitted using encryption. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services & Advertising

We use third-party services for analytics, email delivery, and AI processing. We also integrate the Meta Audience Network / Facebook SDK to measure the performance of our advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). On iOS, the Meta SDK only receives your advertising identifier (IDFA) and tracking data if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. You can withdraw this permission at any time by going to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or Settings → Kalorim → Allow Tracking. These third parties have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data — including Meta's Privacy Policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at emre@kalorim.tr.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
